Jacksonville Florida perspective
Here in Jacksonville, most of the schools stay away from scheduling anything on Wednesday nights. That is considered church night. However, my son plays competitive soccer, and they schedule Tue, Wed, and Thu night for practices. Games scheduled on the weekends almost always involve both Saturday and Sunday. Although not every Sat and Sun. Usually, the season has one weekend games, the next weekend off. They will also intermittently have practices on Sunday.
But the schools do stay away from scheduling Wed night. And the schools don't schedule Sunday activities.

The Wednesday night thing is true here. I don't know about Sunday play, but Wednesday is set aside for youth actives
