But there are also somethings that are better for accommodating church related things. For instance Sunday play is pretty much non existent here so that isn't a worry. Everyone is basically in lockstep on that. But the weekly church activities are many, and daily. I just don't think it is wrong to decide that you're not going to participate in some of the church activities held during the week in order to play sports. My main point is that when you make the decision to p,any team sports you are making a commitment to other people and they are depending on you just as you're depending on them. You've promised to be there and contribute so it is correct and honorable thing to do to fulfill that commitment. If a kid, or their parents, isn't willing to fulfill that commitment then they shouldn't play. Period. Most people get this, I've had very few that it was an issue with, especially since we were all in agreement up front that we wouldn't be playing on Sunday's.

And of course church activities don't always interfere on week nights, kids still attend plenty of church things.
