I didn't adjust my diet when I gained that 20 pounds except for eating a Built bar a few times per week.
I was surprised at how fast my body started to change.
Since that 6 month break a few years ago, i've been regularly lifting weights again, but I take it much easier and don't consume as much protein as I did during that first surge. I want my body to stay healthy, but I don't to get heavy even if it's "good" weight.
I know that's the opposite of what you're trying to do, but getting bigger isn't necessarily better.
As weird as it may sound, my wife doesn't really care either way. She's always been into skinny guys.
