No, he's not the greatest coach ever. But he's not a bad coach. He has some habits that could/should be changed up. Ok, but so does nearly every other coach in D1 football. I don't think the team has lived up to their greatest potential under Sitake. But I also don't think the team has been nearly as bad as so many on CB want to imply it to be. I also don't think that Kalani deserves to be drawn and quartered for the results during his time. Yes, there have been some really bad losses....really really bad losses. But there have also been some program changing wins. We've had a couple losing seasons under Kalani. But he's also coached against the toughest stretch from an opponent perspective of any coach in BYU football history.
I think, until there is a clearly better option (don't give me the Jay Hill thing...) that we can move to, Kalani is as good as it gets. If Darrell Bevell suddenly says "I want to coach at BYU", that's something to give a hard look at. Until then, all the hand-wringing, criticism, and belly-aching isn't going to help the team, the fan base, or anything else. Frankly, it's getting a little tiresome as well.
