The saddest part about lacrosse is that the primary sponsor for the Utes program
offered it to BYU first. After BYU turned down the seed money, they went to Utah, who gobbled it up.

Would love to see it, but the economics just don't work at the end of the day.

That would be some pretty fancy accounting to show baseball as revenue neutral.
Bluforever
11/19/23 1:47pm
It's probably not really neutral at a lot of schools, but it's not a money pit
shoganai
11/19/23 1:50pm
It’s a pit. Ticket sales don’t even cover coaches comp. Perhaps not as much

The Big 12 revenue increase has nothing to do with men's soccer. We're getting

Great but ONE school does not make a conference for BYU to join.

Equal scholarships is a myth. You can add men's soccer and not have to worry about adding a women's sport.

Lots of sports do partial men's scholarships, or offer fewer per team.

They do, but that has everything to do with cost considerations and nothing to do with title IX.

Even as a stand-alone men's soccer isn't going to make positive revenue.

There are 205 D1 men's soccer programs including 50 from FBS schools. I wouldn't describe that has being "few".

I would definitely describe 50 programs out of 130+ schools as being few.

Yes, it would lose less money than some others do.

And it would drive women's soccer even further into the red.
