A few things:
I 100% am on board with adding mens soccer. I won't pretend to understand the complicated Titke IX formulas that are involved, but a few things:
1. Coaches are well compensated. It's not life changing money, but the extramural coaching contracts I've seen are in the 45k range. Assistant coaches are paid less, but still are far from volunteers.
2. Extramural teams do not fall under the Nike contract, but they have a budget for uniforms and gear from the school. I think all extramural sports ask participants to pay for swag and practice gear though.

Title IX is not a barrier. If it is proven that there is a demand for a sport, men or women, it can be done.
