My wife and I started early. I was building my own business working 60-80 hrs a week.
Yet I still coached my kids sports teams and served in the Church.

I asked my wife if she felt I didn’t support her at any time during our marriage as her husband. She laughed and said “no”.

I never felt like things were balanced but I have no doubt that always being as busy as I was I why my kids aren’t the “entitled” types. They saw the hard work and how it paid off.
Being self employed allowed me take my kids along to see good work ethics. They also liked the soda pop or ice cream they got at the end of the day.

Now that I’m older and I have 3 adult children with one more achieving adulthood in Nov. I’m happy to see they understand that you reap what you sow. They are sowing as hard as they can while they are young.
