Jeff Bezos established a company culture of "frugality", which is the justification that their upper management uses to not care what employees want or think.

Love the company as a customer, but would never work there.

Kind of like BYU...I love BYU as a university and for their athletics programs, but I would never work there. Underpaid, overworked, and toxic culture in many places...based on both first-hand (I worked as a student alongside many full-time non-student employees) and second hand experiences.
