Mahomes is the only modern exception. Allen and Lamar both started as rookies, and your earliest example besides them
was drafted in 2005. Every QB good QB, aside from Mahomes, younger than 38 played as a rookie.

It baffles me that other teams haven’t learned from what Green Bay has done.

That ain’t it either. That was a terrible use of draft capital

Aside from generational talents, NFL QB success is much more strongly correlated

Oh, no. It’s the exact opposite. The great QBs overcome “bad situations”

He was not that good a few years ago.

Unless you draft a huge project, you absolutely play your rookie. Almost every elite QB in the NFL started day one

Mahomes is the one outlier and Brady started back when rookies sat. Every other elite guy in the NFL started in year one

Brady was a 7th rd draft pick who didn’t start until Bledsoe got hurt?

Brady was a late round pick who was most definitely sitting behind Drew Bledsoe

So you’re saying he was a huge project? Is that the takeaway here? Rookies didn’t start 20 years ago. They do now. Using

I'm not the one that brought up Brady, you did. And FTR, Brady tossed a single

Read the thread, I didn’t bring up Brady first. But you can’t say, “look at past generations, they turned out better

Really? Not Mahomes. Not Rodgers. Not Brady. Not Brees. Not Lamar. Not Allen…

We’re arguing semantics here. Read through my posts and I’ve been saying play year one. You’re right, I said “day one”
