Why bring that up? Is it to justify your position?
Are you trying to say money doesn't solve problems?
If so why not just say "Money won't solve Chad's problems" and we can talk about whether or not money will help or not.
I'd say generally speaking that money helps to solve problems but money needs direction to be used most effectively.

Why will money likely to make the problem worse?
Doesn't it all depend on how the money is used that will determine whether it will make the problem worse or not?
If the money is used for medical care then it's likely that it'll help provide some stability and make things better.
