In football and baseball I tried to accommodate young men's/young women's schedules as much as I reasonably could, but the fact is some of the kids on my teams had it on all three of those days, meaning some had Tues, some Wed, some Thur, and there was simply no way to accommodate them all. Parents would ask, which of course is fine, some parents were very pushy about it, but most understood once I explained it to them that there was no possible way to schedule around everyone since all of their church schedules were different so I was just going to set the schedule and they'd have to make a decision. I also made it clear to them that attendance at practice was mandatory and that if they elected not to come to practice because of a young men's activity then it would affect their playing time.
There is no other way to do it and in fact that is the right way to do it. As I've stated in other posts in that original thread our youth have plenty of church activities and meetings, they do not lack in church sponsored opportunities, and there is much of life outside of church that is worthy of their time and worthwhile for them to do. If they choose not to play because they might miss out on one of the 10 church activities/meetings that are scheduled for them that week then that is a decision they have made. Sports leagues and coaches are not at fault for this and cannot accommodate all of them nor are they wrong if they refuse to accommodate all of them.
Just the way it is.
