Four years of it, only gained one pound of muscle or so but gained plenty of fat.
Got super sick for four months and lose all my muscle and fat. Heal, and regain all that fat but none of the muscle. 🙄 Now I’m back to the gym but I’m as weak as I was four years ago.
Put simply I don’t think I have the genetics for bulking or something.
I’ve tried it multiple times, taking in like 130g of protein for a few months while doing hypertrophy or whatever but just got fat 🙂
The important thing for me is my overall health and especially mental health, as well as just feeling energized.
Weightlifting does that for me and I love it for that reason.
But I wish I got more of the aesthetic benefits too 😂
