Destroyed it, it's overcrowded, lodges are filled with trash because they don't staff appropriately, they don't fix up
the gondolas so half of them are inoperable, leading to longer lines, and then jacked up the day rates making the barrier to entry for new skiers and snowboarders too high, who wants to pay $325 for a day pass just to try skiing? They've instituted paid parking, and then due to the fact that everyone now has season passes, due to the day rates being so high, the amount of people who go to the resorts is higher as they're trying to get the most out of their pass, and so there are long lift lines, and on powder days the snow gets chewed up faster, on top of that they've closed off some of the best side country terrain due to liability reasons. Vail sucks.
