I posted background information behind my thoughts. Feel free to do the same and post your thoughts.
The fact is that the filmmaking could be excellent while it still mischaracterizes the people that lived during that time. I doubt he was as worried about being accurate as he was trying to make entertainment....I have enough first hand information to form a fair opinion that the majority of the people at the time will be mischaracterized by this series.
