I listened to an extended interview with the director and have done some reading on the making of the show
The decendants for both of my parents were Utah pioneers....my opinion is certainly biased but I have first hand knowlege that their lives did not reflect the charactarizations that the filmakers are taking.
Sure...they were not perfect...and serious mistakes were made but the totality of their lives were not much different than my own life. Just surviving, serving the community, trying to be good people and teaching my kids to do the same.
