That's how I felt about it.
High school football and beyond is challenging on many levels. Coaches, teammates, politics, and egos all get dumped in a bowl and mixed around. There's not room for everyone to be the star or the starter. It's challenging for those who, for whatever reason, get left behind. Just like life, two or three interpretations of the same situation can be different but true.
