(which I tend to agree on). The problem is Clemson is has finished ranked each of the last 15 years with two national titles and two runner up finishes in that time. Only Alabama has been better (Ohio St is right there as well).
But from 1960 to 1976 they finished ranked zero times. They play in the ACC so they have less cachet.
But don't get me wrong, I want BYU to be like Clemson. Some good and bad history that grows into a period of dominance.
That is what I hope for BYU.
Michigan, Ohio St, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma (they are an interesting one, but just too much winning to not include them) and Notre Dame are the only true blue bloods in my opinion. Teams like USC, LSU, Florida, Miami, Florida St, Georgia, Oklahoma and Clemson are on that next tier (I probably forgot some). Ohio St was the most recent addition to the blue bloods, I don't foresee any of the others jumping in any time soon but those teams on the next list are the most likely players.
You will notice there are no Big 12 teams on either list. This is somewhat a problem, but if ASU, BYU, TCU, CU or whomever becomes a dominant force in this generation then who cares.
