Are expensive. Danley Sound Labs provided the hardware and if I remember correctly Poll audio in SLC did the design and installation. FYI Poll audio was called on to consult on a U2 tour to help them get the new EV X-aray doing what they needed/wanted it to do. Danley Sound Labs used to have a big write up on the system when it was first installed. I think I have it saved somewhere and I will post it if I can find it again. I think the system was modified at the most recent face lift of LES but I not recall what was done. IIRC some amazing subwoofers were added but I would bet that they have never been hit hard enough signal wise for people to get feel for just how much low end they can produce.
Here are the specs for the horn loaded subwoofers. Those are impressive specs and those subs can get LOUD
28 Hz – 150 Hz – 3 dB
23 Hz – 200 Hz – 10dB
Continuous Output
146 dB SPL
Peak Output
152 dB SPL
The speakers at LES are very efficient and loud with amazing "throw" and very good at focusing sound in a specified range of degrees ie 90 degrees 75 degrees. I would be surprised if BYU has even approached pushing those speakers to their max
One of the biggest issues is that there really is not any way to hang line arrays to cover specific sections of seating and the score boards are about the only options without major modifications to LES.
