us all at it 😅.
I’m optimistic about BYU athletics future after this year. I’d say I’m more optimistic than I have been in many years.
I’m optimistic for a variety of reasons including:
1) The leadership at the University (I.e Shane Reese banging the drum 🥁 of becoming the BYU of prophesy and his enthusiasm towards athletics)
2) The new NIL landscape (and our very capable and willing donors which frankly has surprised me like many others this year)
3) solid head coaching and good direction from our AD.
I like the blue collar/humble/grateful (non entitled) approach I see exemplified by Kalani.
I think this is the way to become the BYU of prophecy (as Shane Reese likes to say).
I’m all for inclusion and getting credit like you propose.
But, I have to disagree and say that I don’t think we as fans do our athletic program any favors by “pointing out the warts” of other programs, I don’t think that gets us where we want to go.
So, we didn’t get to the playoffs this year… I promise you we will. If we keep the same upward trend we’ve had since recently joining a power four conference? I don’t think there anything stopping us.
And, when we achieve “the sports glory” we all desire for our Cougs… we can make friends with other programs along the way as our fan culture (I don’t think pointing out others warts moves any needle I want to move). But, again, you likely are a lot more tactful than I would be about doing that @BamaCoug.
I like the discussion and the passion.
Go Cougs 💪🏼🤙🏼
