BYU was as good or better than any B12 team but they controlled their own fate

and couldn't execute when it mattered, confirming the naysayers' opinions.

I think BYU would have outperformed what SMU did in the CF playoffs and would have defeated ASU in a B12 championship game rematch. But it's all academic. The Cougs had their chances; no excuses. Still a very good season, though.
