change BYU's perception as a school that can or can't be mistreated. I guarantee that SMU and IU did not get chosen for the CFP over BYU because anyone on the committee concluded it would be less difficult for them to screw over BYU than those other teams.
BYU didn't get screwed. They failed to do what they needed to do to secure their spot, and then lost out on a couple of judgment calls. Including BYU would have been totally justifiable, but their resume was not ironclad. Pretending like it's a failure of fandom not to toe the "we got screwed" line is ridiculous. The team did the only thing that will make a difference - showed on the field that they belonged last night. That will mean something the next time around.
