I remember him once saying that Whittingham would send him and other assistant

coaches to clinics in the offseason. I would be surprised if he didn’t do the same at BYU.

Here’s a few years old article about him in general . It mentions that he learned a lot from Andy Ludwig and Dennis Erickson.
