I thought it was a rather reasonable take
He’s not ripping Arod. People that do aren’t being particularly fair in my mind, as Roderick has been rather consistently good.

It’s a fair question as to whether he’s great or can be..

Some people appear super offended if you blame JR, and others seem to react to the same if you blame Arod, but there are chinks in the armor. We had some major red zone gaffes this year, for example.

One thing for which I give Arod credit that I’ve seen two different times now: a couple years ago we were absolutely awful on short yardage downs. Like among the worst in the nation. He got three weeks off, and with a fourth string quarterback, we were very solid against SMU in the bowl game, which we won. This year, our third down difficulties basically disappeared tonight against Colorado – – a ranked squad with a solid defensive front.

My take home is that Arod seems capable of adjusting and improving when given time. Doesn’t seem a terrible thing to hope he’ll do it some more in the off-season.
