It is a problem but IMO it is better than the absurdity
of being more concerned about the games following the conference championship game as dictating how to choose who will participate in the CCG than the games played before the CCG.
I have never been on a committee about these things but it just seems to me that involving the results of team on team competition in making these decisions is more meritocratic.
