I like the idea, but short-notice logistics seem tough
Can the teams coordinate the short-notice travel and game-hosting logistics?
Can teams re-arrange OOC schedules so that they aren't relying on Week 14 as a home game?
What if BYU already played at Iowa State earlier in the year?
And, there are bad unintended consequences. You GUARANTEE two losses for two of your top 4 teams. That hurts in the rankings and at large CFP prospects.
Would it be better to match two 5-6 teams to guarantee that one will go bowling? Or, matchup your 5-6 teams against the bottom of the conference and hope to get two teams bowl eligible?
