Here is a crazy idea....
2 8 team divisions.
West- ASU, U of A, BYU. Utah, Colorado, KSU, KU, OSU
East- ISU, Baylor, TCU, Houston, WVU, UCF, Texas Tech, Cincinatti
If everybody must play in Texas every year than swap out TCU and Texas Tech for OSU and KU.
Play everyone in your division every year. Play everyone in the other division every fourth year. 9 conference games and 3 OOC games. For purposes of Big 12 CCG only the Divisional round robin games apply to choosing the Divisional winner. Have the Divisional winners play each other in the CCG.
