Whittingham casting a vote of No Confidence on Scalley as HC?

I understand Whittingham wants his status as HC to be a game-time decision (or at least after signing day), but does his comments about doing what is best for the program, and not for him, come off strange to anyone else?

Current rumors are that Whittingham will stay. Given his recent statement, I can only take that to mean that he has no confidence in Morgan Scalley taking over as HC.
