Here is my take—

There is going to be massive realignment in CFB over the next 5-6 years. BYU has a small window of time to maximize its reputation and standing nationally, there’s no time to sit and hope for better.

Arod was hired when budgets were less and it was hard to get quality talent to BYU. Same reason Tuiaki was able to stagnate in the program because both, in my opinion were the best BYU could afford during independence.

However, look at the massive improvement in such a short time a quality DC made (Hill). I’m confident with legitimate money that can be spent on an OC, the program could see a similar improvement in offense. Because, it wasn’t good this year. Which is why almost every game it came down to a TD or two because BYU isn’t scoring enough
