11 years ago was too recent for a man in his 30's to be using the N word and not get backlash. This is laughably
different from Huck Finn or Brigham Young or Moses. Twitter had been around for 5-6 years by then. This isn't olden times or the even the 90's we are talking about. I and my friends knew in the mid 90's in west Salt Lake Valley that we weren't supposed to say it. Scalley definitely knew he wasn't supposed to use the word or text it to a black kid in 2013.
