I don’t think if you asked Scalley he would try to excuse what he said either, he would simply say that he was wrong and that he regrets it. And I’m willing to forgive him. But forgiving someone and moving on is not the same thing as excusing what was done.

There is absolutely, positively no context in which what he said was OK.
