MajorZeus Intervention Needed
Regarding the 18 year old culprit of water bottle. When situations involving
young adults come up, I'm often reminded of my own children and development. With three children ages 25, 22, and 18, I can be somewhat complimentary to what these parents might be dealing with. Now if the father was involved, subject for another day. But concentrating on this young adult I provide the following...

A criminal record can negatively impact the young person's life. Disorderly conduct is a crime involving disruptive or unruly behavior that disturbs the peace, safety, or order of a community or public place. This misdemeanor typically includes actions such as fighting, public intoxication, excessive noise, offensive language, or causing public disturbances. Penalties for a disorderly conduct conviction could include fines, community service, counseling, or even a short stay in jail.

However, let's assume this young man has plans like college, mission, military service, or something else that involves a clean record. First, I hope this young man and parents go into this ordeal humbled to point of extreme remorse. Judges will notice these signs immediately. Second, my hope is Coach Allan is involved and provides part of the justice that is required in this case. But Coach Allan also provides some degree of mercy. Third, if the first two items are satisfied, the outcome could involve community service with some sort of probation with misdemeanor removal at some point down the road. But again, depends on the degree of remorse and prosecutor status.

I would hate to see this completely tear down the young man to point of no return. My kids have made mistakes (not involving a crime) and learned from them to help make themselves better. Let's hope the outcome doesn't punish this young man for the rest of his life. Could be good for the rivalry if justice is served in a way that both victim and criminal can walk away for the better.
