I agree that where coaches add value and hope to succeed is seeing talent or ability in players and then hoping they
were right. Honestly, more often than not they are not correct but having 85+ personel in the program they roll with the best available.

I don’t think coaches ruin players but I do think some players are not quite good enough or there are other extenuating circumstances that factor into a player not succeeding.

I’m on record that I didn’t think Wilson would translate to college. He situation was very reminiscent to Jake Heaps — all the money and support in the world, played for the best and most talented team, surrounded by great line and skill players and just sat back looking like an all world QB. I figured it would be much different for him in college where he would have to earn the success more where he would be under pressure and not have the benefit of being on the more talented side of the ball each game.
