BYU was the only thing that kept me close to the church. Could never come to terms with not liking BYU no matter how far from the church I got. I was sealed to my wife and two daughters this last summer and it was the coolest thing to ever happen. I’m sure God would have found a different way to get to me without BYU football, but I’m trying to instill fandom in my kids knowing it can be something that keeps them close to the light if other things fall off.
