income—even just as a means to an end. And that is not meant to come off as dismissive or rude. I have a solid career now—but I was scrounging by on Uber as a side hustle like 5 years ago. It was primary income for awhile, then it was supplemental, then screw around money, then eventually unnecessary altogether. Either way, it’s a reasonable out, and one I see used regularly by people that are still learning English and other skills. There’s no shame in it, and honestly I didn’t hate doing it when I was doing it. If she wants to earn $6k to flush down the toilet, let her. But I absolutely wouldn’t keep funding it though.
There’s nothing wrong with wanting to work for your own income. My wife does that still even though she doesn’t really NEED to. But short of buying an actual owner/operator business, buying a job is not how real jobs actually work.
