even aside from the take that she had no reasonable play on the ball because it was a bad pass, she ran into the TCU player. The TCU player beat her to the spot. Bailey was looking backwards while she ran and then fell down upon slight contact after she ran into the TCU Player. Pretty much only homer fans would expect that to be called a foul. Defenders are not obligated to get out of the way of an attacker running down the field. That's not a soccer rule.
BYU was also lucky for Frischknecht not to get a second yellow card in the second half when she came in late and nailed Pena. It wasn't an intentional play, just Pena beat her and Frischknecht's foul very easily could have been another yellow. I am not defending every call of the ref, but me watching that game the story was TCU mopping us up and down the field for 70 minutes. TCU's shorter players outquicked us quite a bit. Other than its rare to have 2 PKs in one game, to me the refs weren't a story of the game.
i hope it was just a one off terrible performance by BYU and that they can turn it around and beat U of U on Monday.
It was a nice combination play between Stringfellow and Bailey on that play before Stringfellow overhit the final pass.
Fryer's wondergoal was incredible - too bad we wasted that because with our quality of play this year we might need a Fryer wondergoal per game and some shutouts if we are going to win much more the rest of the way.
