with spin. If it had bounced straight up, Stringfellow would have been in the right position to box anyone else out so they would have had to go through her to get the ball. Instead the ball bounced with spin to the side of Stringfellow even though she was kind of trying to "box out" and her elbow goes up right into face of TCU player. I mostly chalk that one up to bad luck, but also if you give up enough corner kicks and possession in the box something like that is bound to happen eventually. Maybe Stringfellow could have made a little more athletic play on the ball, but I think that one is mostly bad luck and the correct call.

For the play with 6:30 left in the first half when Bailey went down in the box, to me that is not close to a foul. Unfortunately Stringfellow's pass had way too much on it so Bailey had no chance of getting to that pass. The defender and Bailey are both running and Bailey doesn't see the defender step in front of her, but Bailey didn't have the ball so its not like Bailey is entitled to protected space - it would basically be a 50-50 ball if the pass had been close. To call that foul would be like calling a pass interference on a throw that was ten feet over the receiver's head. In football they say its uncatchable so the contact is chalked up to incidental contact. That's how I interpret the Bailey play where she went down in the box. To me that play Stringfellow should just blast a shot a half second earlier and perhaps she makes it or perhaps Bailey could pounce on a rebound. She is trying to thread the needle to Bailey but Bailey is not open, so just shoot it.

I don't even recall the other one you are talking about of TCU keeper getting away with some foul around the box. What minute was that one?
