Yeah but there's plenty to do without a car, especially for a short trip
Ultimately just depends on what you care and and want to do. But if you're indifferent between a bunch of things, I'd say do the things that don't require the car.

Driving in Boston is not impossible, but it's not fun and if someone is asking the question of whether to drive, the answer is probably not.

The other consideration is that parking is either a pain or expensive or both if you're staying in the city.
