However there's a ton of cool things to do outside Boston and once you are outside of Boston proper it's more or less like driving anywhere else. So it really depends on what you want to do. If you do get a car, be prepared to end up in a tunnel in heavy traffic going the wrong direction with miles before you can turn around.
