Yes. If, you are staying in Boston or in the out skirts were the red line is available, wait to rent a car. But rent a
car to visit: Rockport (best clam chowder), Gloucester (great lobster ), Salem, Waldon’s, Lexington (first shot of the Revolutionary War and famous authors), etc.
The Red Line will take you to Harvard Square, Freedom Trail, Boston Commons, Cheers, etc. (don’t drive in Boston - it’s walkable).
