Do you want to go out to Lexington and Concord? Maybe Salem? See some of the
surrounding countryside? Venture a little bit into Maine or New Hampshire? If yes, then rent a car. If all you want to do is stay right in Boston, walk the Freedom Trail, tour Fenway Park, tour some museums, and eat and drink, then don't rent a car.
