Different companies are going to underwrite differently depending on the area and the type of risk they like. All you
can do is shop around till you find a rate you're good with. It's going to be annoying and frustrating but set aside some time to call around to the more reputable companies to see who can offer you a rate you can live with.
It doesn't hurt to get suggestions but a company that might have a great rate for customer A might not have a great rate for customer B.
