For a stats guy, you seem really fixated on a single data point.

There are other stats to suggest the defense was improved from 2022 to 2023, and that is with mostly the same personnel that he inherited after years of gutless recruiting by Tuiaki and Lamb. Then when you factor in the difference in SOS, and recruiting trends, I don't see how you can't be more optimistic about the defense under Jay Hill than the previous defensive staff.
