No prework out for me…
Half a bagel and yogurt about 2.5 hours pre-run. Small lemon-lime Gatorade and some water about hour before.

I prefer Clif shots gel and use lemon-lime (has caffeine) during run. Gatorade at 2-3 miles then gel shot and water next station and I alternate that through the entire race. Occasionally done PBJ on white bread about mile 17.

Biggest challenge for me with marathon training was getting calories and nutrition right post 15+ miles. My stomach doesn’t tolerate much after that distance (can’t do fruit, etc.). Gel shots are my mainstay plus insuring I’m getting enough hydration.

Another big tip for me, is the day before the race I really simplify diet. Nothing that can upset stomach. Cheerios +banana for breakfast. White bread PBJ sandwich, apple for lunch. Spaghetti with simple sauce, plain bread, simple vege for dinner. Hydrating all day long.
