We were there biggest rival. It was never CSU it was BYU due to proximity and because it was always a slugfest. Wyoming had a great team for many years. If we weren’t winning the WAC they were. They almost beat us in 1984 and would’ve cost us our sole national championship. It was tough to play in Laramie. Even if byu was the favorite going into the game, Wyoming would beat us. I remember many a times hearing F U BYU at games from their fans. The holier than thou attitude didn’t help us be very likable either, that and the fact that we were really good. I even think a few times we finished with equal records but byu got picked to go to a bowl game and Wyoming wasn’t. Their fans are passionate and usually have a great team. No professional sport teams are in the state, so as a state they all support the pokes. I think the bitterness has died down a bunch. But to overlook them in Laramie would be a huge mistake. They have the game circled and will be ready to play.
