Your typical suburban city league baseball or basketball team can get 3-4 dads with sufficient knowledge and experience of the game to coach. Most of them will do a pretty decent job.

You're lucky to find one dad even willing to volunteer for soccer, and it's 50/50 if they know anything useful about it when they start out.

The numbers don't improve higher up the ladder.
