It’s just culture. Football and basketball eat up so much of the player pool.
Obviously your parent’s height can give you some type of indicator, but for the most part, you don’t really know how tall or athletically gifted you’re going to be when you start developing skills.

And there are so many kids that develop football and basketball skills when young, but later learn that they don’t have the physical tools to compete at the highest level.

Soccer doesn’t require the physical attributes as much as the other sports do, but we don’t develop those players because the young kids are shooting basketballs instead of juggling a soccer ball.
