Leaving dog with kids...just leave or some kind of farewell?
So, we're leaving the dog we our kids after she has lived with us for 7 years
Do we just leave, or is that somehow traumatic to the dog?
Is there some way to signal to her that it's ok and that this is the plan?
I want to make the transition as smooth as possible

I don’t think they understand at all. If you say goodbyes it will get them anxious because it’s not part of the routine.
