shown on the FEI rankings compared to the ESPN statistics, but I still think they have a lot of work to do. A defense will never be successful if it gives up over 200 yards rushing average against conference opponents and also comes in dead last in the nation in sacks (11).

The defensive line is crucial in Jay Hill’s defense especially DEs and they didn’t play well last year which is why the defense struggled so much. Unfortunately, I don’t see many upgrades on the D-line. Hopefully the players who struggled last year can step it up a notch and some of the incoming freshman will play right away and make a difference.
