Attended a game at Carlsbad as a little kid where he caught a long pass on the last play of the game to beat Oceanside. Also attended a BYU/SDSU game in the early 80's at Jack Murphy when he was a freshman receiver — there was a large banner hung above one of the end zones which said "Carlsbad [Hearts] Koz."

His Mom used to be the full-time custodian at the Stake Center which was right across the street from the High School. He was several years older than me, so I didn't know him very well, but I knew his family. His little brother David played football during the McBride era for the U in the 90's, and his older brother Mike played for CU in the 1970's and then for the Miami Dolphins for several years.
