through that smashed a helmet on a pass in practice (1992 I think) that may have contributed.. but yes, Detmer was the reason really good QBs didn’t get a chance. Sean Covey the golden child and next in line? Not if you watched practice. Detmer was head and shoulders above and everyone knew it
